the sea swallow

fowey, cornwall

a beautiful cornish cottage

by the sea

In a lovely, quiet spot by the pretty medieval church but a minute's walk from shops, great eateries and the quay, and five minutes to the nearest of Fowey's two sandy beaches The Sea Swallow is decorated with exquisite attention to detail, brim full of seaside light and period charm. Everything has been thought of to offer a truly unique and special place to stay for couples, friends and families seeking the seaside life.

A short stroll to sandy beaches, exhilarating walks along some of the loveliest heritage coastal paths, kayaking up river for a picnic in the spot that inspired Wind in the Willows, or some truly good food and lovely little shops and galleries. The Sea Swallow is the perfect base for exploring many of Cornwall's wonderful attractions or just tucking yourselves away for a cosy break with everything you need just a pebble's throw away.

The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock and the breathtakingly beautiful Bodmin moor are nearby, not to mention the sun, sea and surf. It's easy to see why Daphne DuMaurier fell instantly in love with pretty Fowey and made it her home, with it's deep harbour setting nestled into steep green hills rolling out to sea that weave some special kind of magic on you.

The cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway, two couples or a family and sleeps up to 5 with plenty of room in both bedrooms for cots, too. It can be rented with one or two bedrooms, for short breaks or longer stays and is wonderfully equipped with everything you'll need.

We will send you a map that shows all the best places to park, including free onstreet spaces and several public car parks from within 100 metres. You may prefer to buy a weekly parking permit for £47 that allows you to park in any of Fowey's and several other car parks in the district, which includes Newquay and St Austell, for example.

pets...

Your well-behaved dog is very welcome to join you on holiday though we do politely ask them to stay downstairs and to keep their paws off the furniture.

housekeeping...

The cottage is always meticulously cleaned and left absolutely fresh and spotless for new guests arriving. A mid-stay refresh can be arranged at any time.
